Make Your Own: Body Scrub With Coffee

Exfoliate dry skin with this safe and natural body scrub that you can make by yourself, at home. Coffee offers many benefits for your skin as caffeine is said to reduce cellulite by boosting circulation. Sugar and coffee grounds mixed with coconut oil also moisturises and softens dry skin.

Follow the recipe below for smooth and radiant skin:

Ingredients

1/2 cup fresh ground coffee

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup melted coconut oil

4-5 drops cinnamon oil

1 tsp vanilla oil extract (optional)

Tips: After your morning cup of filter coffee, scoop out the remaining grounds from your machine or French press and add this to your mix.

Choose fine grounds, as the coarse kind may be harsh on sensitive or delicate facial skin.

Method

  1. Mix together 1/2 cup fresh ground coffee and 1/2 cup brown sugar.
  2. Add 1/2 cup coconut oil into the coffee mixture then add the cinnamon oil and vanilla extract.
  3. Mix until well combined.
  4. Gently rub the mixture over your body, focusing on areas such as the upper thighs for increased blood circulation in those denser areas and around joins such as elbows and ankles where dead skin is prone to accumulate. Leave it on for several minutes. Rinse thoroughly.
